Langfang Welcome Square

Welcome Square is located south of Yunpeng Avenue and west of Chuangye Road in the Langfang Economic and Technological Development Zone. It covers an area of 18,000 square meters. At the center of the square stands a large sculpture titled “Chasing the Sun Among Clouds.” The central part of the sculpture resembles the sun, while three sheet-like structures on the southern and western sides look like sails, wings, or a giant bird spreading its wings. This symbolizes Langfang’s location between Beijing and Tianjin in the heart of Hebei Province. The three giant birds represent mutual reliance and cooperation among Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, as well as their shared vision for the future and pursuit of ideals.

The sculpture is made of stainless steel and stands 25 meters tall, presenting a majestic and magnificent presence. On the western and southern sides of the square, two rows of flagpoles are arranged in a right angle, with the vertex pointing directly toward the square entrance, resembling a giant with outstretched arms — a symbol of openness to the outside world and a warm welcome to guests from all over who come to build Langfang together. At the vertex of the angle stands a rainbow gate. The rainbow gate is situated along the axis that connects the expressway, Welcome Square, and the city center of Langfang, symbolizing the city's gateway and its vibrant, flourishing development.
