Huilongting Stele

The Huilongting Stele is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

The Huilongting Stele was originally located 600 meters east of Zhuguantun Village, Diaohetou Township, Anci District, Langfang City, Hebei Province, on the north side of the southern embankment of the Yongding River, twelve li from the old county town. It is a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit.

The front side in running script records the achievements of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty during his southern inspection tour when he passed by the Yongding River, as well as his funding for river dredging and embankment construction. It also documents hydrological data spanning over 70 years—from the 37th year of the Kangxi reign (1698 AD) to the 38th year of the Qianlong reign (1773 AD)—during which the Yongding River changed course six times. The left side of the stele features an imperial poem inscribed in running script by Emperor Qianlong. The body of the stele has been damaged, with some characters now blurred. The base is square, adorned with carved cloud patterns.

The Huilongting Pavilion no longer exists, leaving only the stele and some stone components. The stele is made of bluestone and consists of a top tablet, main body, and base. The Huilongting Stele stands 197 cm tall, 101 cm wide, and 39 cm thick. The top, body, and base have all broken apart. The top is carved with kui-dragon patterns, and the right side of the heavenly inscription at the top bears the Chinese seal character 御制 (Imperially Commissioned); the left side is in Manchu script. The main body of the stele is encircled by carved kui-dragon patterns.
