Mount Shouyang in Luoyang

Mount Shouyang is the highest peak of Mangshan Mountain within Yanshi, located to the north of the ancient capital of the Han and Wei dynasties. It earned its name because "at sunrise, the light first touches this mountain." Many imperial tombs from the Wei and Jin dynasties are situated on Mount Shouyang. The mountain stretches over thirty li from east to west, and each peak has its own specific name. The Temple of Bo Yi and Shu Qi is built atop Aozhi Mountain.

Among the Eight Scenic Spots of Yanshi, "Gazing at the Crimson Dawn from Shouyang" refers to the sunrise view from Mount Shouyang. Standing atop the mountain and looking eastward, the sky is painted with radiant hues, vibrant and splendid, as the red sun rises dramatically. To the north, you can see the majestic Taihang Mountains; to the south, the towering Songshan Mountain; to the west, the hazy view of Yique and the faint outline of the ancient capital; and to the east, the Song imperial tombs spread out across undulating hills. Looking around, fertile fields stretch out in lush green, abundant with crops, brimming with vitality.
