Zhilingying Mosque is a cultural tourism attraction.

Zhilingying Mosque

Rebuilt in the 26th year of the Guangxu reign (its original construction date is unknown). Legend has it that at the time, villagers asked Yang Jichuan, an influential court official, to purchase over ten thousand glazed tiles from Beijing. The main prayer hall was built with three visible bays but nine in total, featuring a front porch and a rear prayer chamber. With flying eaves painted in bright colors and carved beams and painted pillars, the mosque appeared particularly solemn and majestic. After its completion, Yang Jichuan reported to Empress Dowager Cixi, who bestowed a personally inscribed plaque reading “Mysterious and Universal Compassion.” In 1982, when local Hui villagers raised funds to renovate the mosque, they hung the “Mysterious and Universal Compassion” plaque above the main hall entrance, restoring the ancient mosque’s former grandeur.
