Langfang Cultural Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Situated in Langfang City, Hebei Province—a key portal to the capital region—the city has gained growing attention as a modern leisure destination and a charmingly hospitable urban center. Among its physical urban forms, the grand and elegant theme park—Langfang Cultural Park—has become the most visually impactful centerpiece of the city's humanistic and ecological landscape.

Spanning a total area of 660 acres with a planned total investment of 600 million RMB, the overall planning of Langfang Cultural Park was led by German firm GMP, while its landscaping was jointly designed by Australian S.I. Design and Hong Kong-based architect firm Ho Hung Yip. The park adopts a modern Western-style garden layout, reflecting today’s global landscaping philosophy that emphasizes harmony with nature along with profound cultural richness. The first phase, consisting of foundational landscape construction, was opened to the public free of charge in July 2003 and includes five scenic zones: the Natural Cycle Park, Dream Lake, Art Park, Educational Water Park, and the Avenue of Wisdom Quotes and Calligraphy. The second phase, completed and put into use in 2006, features a museum, library, surrounding landscape works, and the Sculpture Project on the Avenue of Calligraphy. Future plans also include the development of projects such as a Humanistic Ecological Garden and a Wedding Culture Plaza.

Water is the main feature of Langfang Cultural Park, where a natural circulation system is used to purify the lake automatically, resulting in crystal-clear water shimmering under the sunlight—a scene described as “dreamy blue waves reflecting the sky, where movement and stillness blend in natural beauty.” The Avenue of Calligraphy, composed of four sections—Giant Stone Seals, A Brief History of Calligraphy, Appreciation of Famous Literary Works, and Landscape Art Installations—presents the evolution of Chinese calligraphy from ancient knot-tying record-keeping to modern times in the form of a hundred-meter scroll. It also showcases masterpieces by 53 renowned calligraphers, including Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Ouyang Xun, Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, and Li Yangbing. The Avenue of Wisdom displays 51 sculpture groups covering four major themes: astronomy, history, language and writing, and social and natural sciences. Utilizing over 20 types of materials and more than 10 sculptural techniques, these artworks combine artistic value with educational insight. Visitors can enjoy aesthetic pleasure while also gaining inspiration and knowledge. In addition, the 10,928-square-meter library and the 10,000-square-meter museum have greatly enriched the cultural life of local residents.

As a harmonious stroke in the beautiful picture of Langfang, the Cultural Park, through the designer’s ingenious approach, fully embodies the park’s landscaping theme—"Enlightenment." This encompasses cognition, civilization, understanding, education, knowledge, learning, culture, open-mindedness, teaching, and wisdom. It allows visitors to gain inspiration across multiple perspectives and disciplines, engaging with diverse aspects of humanistic wisdom. The park will shine alongside Langfang, a warm and modern city poised for continued brilliance.
