Langfang People's Park

Langfang People's Park was first built in 1990 and is the largest comprehensive park planned in the city center area. With the rapid development of the city, the park’s original infrastructure and landscape entertainment functions could no longer meet the cultural needs of residents. To address this, the city listed the upgrade and renovation project of People's Park as one of the top ten urban projects and began the renovation in May 2006.

The construction followed the principle of “people-oriented design and full utilization of existing garden resources,” further improving infrastructure such as lighting, greening, water systems, and hillsides, forming a new framework of “one hill, one water body, two plazas, and sixteen scenic spots.” After the renovation, the park covers a total area of 223,000 square meters, with nearly 10,000 plants of over 80 varieties, achieving a green coverage rate of 90%.

Langfang People's Park is the largest and highest-grade park in the urban area of the city and a favorite spot among local residents. It spans a total area of 323 mu, including 85.54 mu for Times Square, 208 mu for People's Park, and 29.48 mu for the Langfang Seasoning Factory and Film Company, with a total investment of about 110 million yuan. In terms of planning and design, the principle of “maintaining the natural landscape style and overall functionality of People's Park while making full use of existing garden resources” was upheld to further improve infrastructure such as lighting, greening, water systems, and hillsides. A market-driven approach was adopted to demolish all walls, fences, and structures of the seasoning factory and film company. Using modern landscaping techniques, a cultural plaza, sports plaza, and leisure plaza were built in the western area, while the park features a mountain sightseeing area, grassy rest area, and rock-water scenic area. An underground passage or underground mall and parking facilities were constructed at the intersection of Fifth Avenue, Xinhua Road, and Yinhe North Road, ensuring overall harmony between the eastern plaza, the park, the western plaza, and the surrounding environment.
