Hongmen Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Henan Province.

Hongmen Temple is located to the north of Sihé Village, Zhongxing Subdistrict, Shanyang District, Jiaozuo City, at the foot of Jiulian Mountain in the Yuntai Mountain range. It lies in a region blessed with beautiful mountains, scenic landscapes, rich natural resources, and a vibrant cultural spirit. To the south, you can gaze upon the mighty banks of the Yellow River; to the west are Wangwushan Mountain, Shennongshan Mountain, Qingtianhe, and Jingying Temple; to the north are Qinglong Gorge and Cangshan; and to the east are Dacheng Temple, Yuntai Mountain, and Xilian, among others.

Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Hongmen Temple faces a naturally formed mountain ridge to the north that resembles a giant reclining Buddha — a symbol believed to bring blessings to the diligent and courageous people of the area through the centuries.
