Town Water Tower

The Town Water Tower is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

The Town Water Tower is located on a highland surrounded by mountains in Zhangjiahe Village, Zhuolu County.

The tower has an octagonal floor plan and is a solid brick pagoda with a dense eaves structure imitating wood. It currently has seven stories, standing about 15 meters tall. The lower part of the base is buried underground. The first story features false doors on four sides and blind windows on the others. Below the eaves are intricately crafted five-puzuo double-bracket sets. The eaves of the upper levels are adorned with four-puzuo brick-carved bracket sets, and the rafters and brackets are realistically rendered, making it an important architectural remnant from the Liao Dynasty.

In July 1993, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Hebei Province.
