Fangyun Temple Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Henan Province.

"Fangyun Temple Pagoda," also known as Shengduo Temple Pagoda, is located on the southern foothills of Shengduo Mountain, slightly northwest of the town center of Maxikou. The pagoda was renovated during the Ming Dynasty and is a seven-story octagonal pyramid structure entirely built with blue bricks. It has a base circumference of 18.4 meters, a height of 23 meters, and a base diameter of 5.8 meters. The body of the pagoda is slightly tapered inward, with clearly defined tiers, a simple design, and an imposing, majestic appearance. It is a solemn and classic pavilion-style, densely-eaved brick pagoda that is now largely well-preserved. Legend has it that Fangyun Temple was first built in the first year of the Qin Shi era of the Western Jin Dynasty (256 AD), and the temple complex was grand in scale, featuring over ten large and small pagodas. "The bell towers and side halls were all complete, bustling with hundreds of monks" is an accurate depiction of the temple’s prosperity at the time. In 1982, the county government designated it as a cultural relic protection unit.
