Former Site of Xinyang Normal School

The Former Site of Xinyang Normal School is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Henan Province.

The "Former Site of Xinyang Normal School" in Shigang Town (auditorium and classrooms) was built in 1938 when the school relocated westward during the War of Resistance against Japan. The complex includes a two-story wooden auditorium with five rooms and a two-story wooden classroom building with fourteen rooms. Although these structures have a history of over seventy years, they blend both Chinese and Western architectural styles and hold significant artistic value. At the same time, they serve as historical evidence of the Japanese invasion of China. They are of great importance for promoting national spirit, especially in providing patriotic and revolutionary tradition education to young people. In 2002, the county government designated it as a cultural heritage site. In June 2008, it was listed by the People's Government of Henan Province as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites.

Shigang Town: Located 23 kilometers southwest of Neixiang County, Shigang Town borders Dengzhou City to the east and is close to Xichuan County to the south. Situated at the junction of three counties, it is the most populous town in Neixiang, governing 27 administrative villages and 289 villager groups. The town has 98,000 mu of arable land and a total population of 71,000. There are currently 36 Party branches, including 27 village-level branches and 9 town-level and enterprise-level branches, with 1,736 Party members, 161 village cadres, and 357 group cadres.
