Yehuli Ridge Fortress Military Tourism Area

The Yehuli Ridge Fortress Military Tourism Area is located directly south of Zhangbei County, adjacent to National Highway 207 and the Zhangbei South Toll Station on the Zhangshi Expressway. Construction began on September 15, 2009, with the first phase completed by the end of December, involving a total investment of 12 million yuan. Built around the "802" military exercise field, the national defense project completed in 1974, and the ancient battlefield of the Mongol-Jin War, it is the first red military tourism destination on the Bashang Plateau.

The scenic area development stretches along National Highway 207 from Shenweitai to Highland 1469, with key highlights including Highland 1469 – the tank cone belt west of Youlou Valley – the Dahong Valley broken bridge, the main battleground contested by the Soviet-Mongolian Allied Forces and Japanese troops – the Soviet-Mongolian Allied Forces Martyrs Memorial Tower – Shenweitai, the birthplace of the Huahuang Uprising – Langwogou Ancient Battlefield – and the Huanghuaping Japanese bunkers and trenches.

The main scenic area features the "802" Grand Military Exercise Memorial Hall, with exhibition content including: the history of Yehuli Ridge, sand tables from the 1960s–70s, related declassified events, photos, military equipment used by troops and civilians at the time, a mini movie screening room; the camp area includes parking for civilian vehicles, combat vehicles, and military trucks, as well as tent camping zones, building areas, barbecue spots, and dining halls; the main position features camouflaged cave entrances with artillery, tank positions, and external fortifications, radar installations; inside the caves are arranged kitchens, supply depots, water reservoirs, medical rooms, command centers, ammunition depots, firearms storage, equipment storage, and office-rest areas, with posted quotes and slogans from Chairman Mao; the mountain area is equipped with CS combat games; expansion activities include facilities such as ice bridges, Burma bridges, swinging horizontal ladders, rope bridges, climbing walls, and combined game apparatus.
