Wolong Cemetery

Wolong Cemetery is a cultural tourism attraction.

Wolong Cemetery is located southwest of the city and on the southern side of Wolonggang. Wolonggang is an extension of the 800-li Funiu Mountain Range, where its northern and southern ridges converge 3 kilometers southwest of the Wuhou Shrine. The cemetery is built at this site. The area boasts open terrain, rich soil, and a tranquil environment, earning it the reputation of being a “treasure land where two dragons play with a pearl.” Furthermore, as it lies to the east against the Twelve-Li River and faces the White River to the south, it has become a highly cherished “geomantically auspicious site.”

Nanyang’s Wolonggang has long been known for its outstanding people and spiritual energy. It was once the land where Zhuge Liang farmed in seclusion and also the former site of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu’s military review platform. Nowadays, the Nanyang university district, primarily centered around Nanyang Normal University and the Medical College, is taking shape, and the cemetery, situated adjacent to this cultural hub, has gained even more spiritual significance.
