Nanyang Jianong Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in sightseeing, leisure, and the development of deep-processing projects for roses. In recent years, the company has used tourism as a breakthrough point, guiding and standardizing farmers to engage in tourism services through targeted poverty alleviation via tourism, thereby increasing their income. Through the “poverty alleviation tourism company + farmer households” model, it has used a single point to drive the larger area, serving as a demonstration to inspire other residents to pursue prosperity through tourism, guiding them to liberate their thinking and change their concepts. This has enabled tourism to replace agriculture as the local pillar industry, achieving the dual goals of poverty alleviation for residents and community collective economies. Among these efforts, the Gonghe Village project to promote the planting of 1,000 mu of roses and develop related deep-processing initiatives is another investment-attracting project following the village’s greenhouse vegetable initiative and Chinese herbal medicine cultivation project. Relying on the Jinan Rose Research Institute in Shandong Province for technical and informational support, the project plans to invest 50 million yuan to cultivate 2,000 mu of edible roses, primarily the “Fenghua No. 1” variety. The project integrates rose cultivation, fragrance processing, and sightseeing tourism, and is scheduled to be implemented in two phases. One of the development directions of the project is deep processing—mainly producing rose essential oil, rose dew, rose tea, rose jam, rose paste, and rose donkey-hide gelatin paste—as travel products. The second direction focuses on tourism such as sightseeing, fruit picking, and wedding photography. The third involves seedling cultivation, breeding, and promotion.

To date, three agricultural economic cooperatives, one industrial enterprise, and more than 20 registered poor households have participated in tourism-related activities. Every day, over 300 farmers are employed in planting, fertilizing, pest control, pruning, as well as tourism catering, which has effectively promoted farmers’ income growth and the rapid development of the rural economy. The rose garden will also become a rose-themed cultural base integrating cultivation, deep processing, product display, tourism, leisure, and fruit picking, as well as the most distinctive comprehensive theme industrial park. It has become a high-quality science education demonstration base and tourist attraction in Xiezhuang Township.
