【Ruins of the Ancient Jiang State Capital】According to historical records and expert research, the ancient Jiang State was located within the territory of Zhengyang, spanning the area along the Huai River. The ruins of its capital are situated in Tudian Village, Dalin Township, covering an area 2 kilometers from east to west and 1.2 kilometers from north to south. Within the ancient city ruins, fragments of pottery used during the Shang and Zhou dynasties have been unearthed. In 623 BC, the State of Chu conquered the Jiang State, causing its descendants to flee and scatter across different regions. They adopted the name of their former state as their surname, giving rise to the Jiang family name. In recent years, during ancestral root-seeking activities, Jiang descendants from both China and abroad have visited the site. Among them, the “Nanyang Jiang Clan Association” from Singapore has maintained contact with the local “Jiang Clan Association” in our county and has donated funds to build Yanhuai Primary School and the Jiang Family Ancestral Hall in Dalin Township.
