Fuzhuang Site

The Fuzhuang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Henan Province.

The Fuzhuang Site is located on an earthen mound 200 meters northeast of Fuzhuang Village in Jishi Township, approximately 13 kilometers northeast of Yancheng County. The site stretches 350 meters from north to south and 250 meters from east to west, covering an area of about 80,000 square meters. Legend has it that this was the meeting place of the lords of the states of Cai and Deng during the Spring and Autumn Period, known as "Huichengtai" or "Guishengtai."

The site is about 3 meters higher than the surrounding ground, and its cultural layers are thick and rich in content. Among the unearthed production tools are stone artifacts such as arrowheads, knives, adzes, axes, shovels, and drills. There are also bone fishhooks, clam sickles, and spinning whorls. Daily utensils were mainly pottery, including red clay pottery, black pottery, and gray pottery mixed with sand, decorated with cord marks, combed patterns, and checkered patterns. The vessel shapes include bowls, tripods, basins, jars, pots, and flasks, all belonging to a settlement site of the Longshan Culture. In 1963, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit by the provincial government.
