Liankang Mountain National Nature Reserve, located in Xin County in the heart of the Dabie Mountains, covers an area of 10,580 hectares and features 45 peaks over 700 meters above sea level. The main peak, Dafengjian, stands at 775 meters. The main mountain range extends from west to east, passing Bajiao Daochang (727 meters) and reaching Chiqijian (721 meters).

Liankang Mountain lies in the transitional zone between the subtropical and warm temperate climate zones, boasting rich flora and fauna. According to surveys, there are 2,435 species of plants, including rare species such as fragrant fruit tree, eucommia, ginkgo, dawn redwood, gastrodia elata, wild soybean, and dysosma versipellis. There are also more than 400 animal species, among which the leopard, Lady Amherst’s pheasant, and giant salamander are considered nationally protected rare animals.

Liankang Mountain is a mountainous region with undulating terrain and overlapping peaks. Even its lowest areas are over 400 meters above sea level, and most of the land is covered by forests.
