The former site of the Garrison Office of the Fourth Detachment of the New Fourth Army is a cultural heritage site protected by Xin County, a classic destination on the Red Tourism route, and a patriotic education base.

The former site of the Garrison Office of the Fourth Detachment of the New Fourth Army is located in Yue’erwan, Lianhua Village, Guojiahe, Xin County. In March 1938, after the Fourth Detachment of the New Fourth Army, led by Commander Gao Jingting, Chief of Staff Lin Weixian, and Director of the Political Department Dai Jiyi, advanced eastward to fight in the War of Resistance against Japan, a garrison office was established in Qiliping. It was relocated to Yue’erwan in the autumn of the same year. During its time stationed here, the office held multiple meetings with local party and anti-Japanese guerrilla cadres, engaged in numerous negotiations and struggles with the Kuomintang, and implemented the Party’s policy of independence and self-reliance within the united front during the War of Resistance. It played a significant role in strengthening the anti-Japanese guerrilla forces in the Eyu Border Region and establishing anti-Japanese guerrilla bases. The former site faces south and consists of three two-courtyard buildings with a total of seven rooms. The front features a gatehouse with five stone steps leading up to it. Passing through the small courtyard behind the gatehouse leads to the second building, which has two rooms—one serving as a passageway and the other as the guardroom for the garrison office. The third building has three main rooms and a small front courtyard, with an additional wing room on the east side of the courtyard. The main rooms consist of one central bright room and two side rooms: the middle room served as the office for the leadership, the east side room and the wing room were used as living quarters for leaders such as Liu Mingbang and Zheng Weixiao, while the west side room was the residence of Tian Dong, director of the garrison office and secretary of the Guangma Economic Central County Committee. Except for the brick-walled, gray-tiled gatehouse, the rest of the structures are earthen-walled, gray-tiled houses. The garrison office’s subordinate units, including the guard platoon, reception office, and kitchen, were also located in the village. In 1979, it was designated as a county-level key cultural relics protection unit.
