Traditional Residential Buildings in Maopu Village

The traditional residential buildings in Maopu Village are located in Maopu Village, Zhouhe Township, Xin County. They date back to the Qing Dynasty. These buildings are among the seventh batch of cultural heritage sites protected by Henan Province.

Maopu Village: Situated at the junction of Hubei, Henan, and Anhui provinces, in the heart of the Dabie Mountains, Maopu Village is located in the northeastern part of Zhouhe Township, Xin County. It lies 8 kilometers from National Highway 106 and is the source of the Bailu River, a tributary of the Huai River. The village covers an area of 13.5 square kilometers, comprising 19 villager groups, 53 natural villages, and a total population of 561 households with 2,183 people. In 2013, it was successively listed as a “China Traditional Village” and a “China Landscape Village,” and in 2016, it was designated as a “Key Cultural Heritage Protection Unit of Henan Province.”
