Linyaifengshan Forest Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national forest park.

Linyaifengshan Forest Park is located at the southern end of Changdao urban area, covering an area of 154.2 hectares. It is a national nature reserve, a national forest park, and a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

A bird exhibition hall has been built on the secondary peak of Fengshan, with a plaque reading "Bird Pavilion Soaring in the Sky" at its entrance, serving as the symbol of the hall. The hall currently displays over 200 specimens of various birds from Changdao. In recent years, the hall has also housed eagles, swans, and more than 300 venomous snakes for visitors to observe.

Highlights: Covering a total area of 300 acres, Fengshan Park serves as a natural “transit station” for migratory birds traveling between north and south China. It is home to over 40 species of birds under first- and second-class national protection, and 156 of the 227 bird species protected under the Sino-Japanese Migratory Bird Protection Agreement are found in Changdao.

Fengshan is the highest point in Changdao County. During the Ming Dynasty, the famous anti-pirate general Qi Jiguang built a signal fire tower here on Shandong to guard against pirate invasions from the sea, hence the name. Nowadays, visitors to the island commonly refer to it as Eagle Mountain because a majestic eagle sculpture stands atop the peak. From a distance, it looks lifelike, with wings spread as if ready to take flight, symbolizing Changdao’s soaring progress in the era of reform. In 1988, the state established a migratory bird protection center on the northern side of the mountain, and in May of the same year, Changdao was designated as a nature reserve by the State Council.

- The Fengshan Scenic Area derives its name from its vast seas and dense forests. Located at the southernmost tip of Changdao urban area, it offers a tranquil environment, shaded by thick foliage, cool and pleasant, with high levels of negative oxygen ions in the air, earning it the reputation of a natural “oxygen bar.” Strolling through the area, you’ll find winding paths leading into serene woods, and climbing through the forest allows you to touch the white clouds. Ascending the 369 steps toward the sea offers views of crystal-clear blue waves, peculiar reefs and rocks, where you can enjoy the wonders of nature. Hence, the scenic area is likened to a “condensed fairyland, an enlarged bonsai.”

Especially noteworthy is the convergence line of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, which showcases both grandeur and beauty within the scenic area: a jade-like sandy beach extends from the foot of the mountain, while a stretch of snowy waves in the sea heads straight toward Penglai Pavilion. Its shape transitions naturally from broad to sharp, curving and flowing elegantly, dividing the blue waters into two — the east is the Yellow Sea, the west the Bohai Sea, clearly distinct. This is the famous Changshanwei, also known as “Jade Beach Flying Snow.” When you stand here with your legs apart, you’ll feel like a giant straddling the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. The “Forest Oxygen Bar” deep in the woods allows you to experience pristine landscapes while enjoying the negative oxygen ions gifted by nature. Other attractions such as the Eight Trigrams Terrace, once used by Qiu Chuji of the Quanzhen Taoist sect, and the Fuyun Pavilion perched on the cliffs also captivate visitors. Additionally, the Fengshan Bird Exhibition Hall displays over 200 species of birds passing through the island and serves as a provincial-level science education base.
