Heishizui Village is situated in the northwest of Nanchangshan Island, Changdao County. To the west lies Miaodao Pond, across which you can see the Miaodao Xianying Palace (Mazu Temple), and to the north is the adjacent Wangfu Reef Park. Blessed with a prime location, picturesque landscapes, easy access, and comprehensive facilities, since 2000, Heishizui Village has begun developing the distinctive “Fishing Family Joy” tourism project. After nearly a decade of growth, there are now 25 Fishing Family Joy operators, offering over 400 beds, and in 2012 the village received 30,000 visitors, generating an income of 3 million yuan. Due to the distinctive development of Fishing Family Joy tourism, the village has been successively recognized as a Fishing Family Joy Folk Culture Village and a Fishing Family Joy Demonstration Village, gaining high visibility both nationally and in surrounding cities within the province.

Heishizui Village is a model representative of Changdao’s construction of a new socialist fishing village. The homes of Fishing Family Joy operators are all two-story villa-style buildings, each with an area of over 200 square meters and capable of hosting more than twenty tourists simultaneously. Bedrooms in these homes are clean, tidy, bright, and cozy, with complete accommodation facilities including solar water heaters, showers, and in some cases, air conditioning. The village has also invested 1 million yuan to develop a sea cage fishing project that combines marine leisure and eco-tourism. Visitors can participate in fishing and experience the joy of catching their own fish, enhancing both the entertainment and participatory nature of the project while significantly increasing its added value.

In recent years, Heishizui Village has focused on standardizing industry management by strengthening training in appearance and service etiquette for operators, achieving positive results with a significant improvement in the overall quality of staff. During operations, operators consistently prioritize visitors, providing warm, considerate, and attentive services, truly making guests feel at home. Throughout the development of tourism, the village committee has continuously explored and innovated based on local conditions, refining Fishing Family Joy business methods by shifting from a focus on group tourists to a combination of group and individual travelers—with an emphasis on individual visitors. Pricing standards have also evolved, increasing from the original 60 yuan to between 100–180 yuan, along with corresponding improvements in dining and accommodation standards. This has transformed the previous low-quality image, allowing visitors not only to enjoy standard meals but also to order dishes based on their preferences and habits, greatly increasing overall visitor satisfaction.
