Military Fishing Homestay

Located in Leyuan Village, Changdao County, the Military Fishing Homestay sits in the county town of Changdao. It lies east of Fengshan Park, west of the commercial pedestrian street, and south of Mingzhu Square, the seawater bathing beach, and the barbecue street — all within a five-minute walk — making it an ideal spot for tourists to relax and cool off.

The homestay has 11 rooms, including doubles and triples. Some rooms are equipped with air conditioning and private bathrooms. Each room comes with a TV, which guests can use according to their needs. With clean, hygienic, and comfortable accommodations, many repeat guests visit year after year. The homestay also owns a vehicle and can provide free airport or station pick-up service for guests’ convenience.

With well-equipped facilities and abundant marine resources, you can even try your hand at being a fisherman. Imagine savoring freshly caught seafood with a pot of fine liquor — what a delightful experience that would be!

In December 2008, reporters from Shandong Television came to interview and report on our homestay. The coverage was aired on Shandong Satellite TV’s “News Pursuit” and Shandong Public Channel. CCTV-4 and CCTV-7 have also broadcast interviews with the Military Fishing Homestay in Changdao. On February 24, 2009, Yantai Daily featured a special report on the homestay in an article titled “Seeing Changdao: Striking Gold from the Sea.” Since the opening up of Changdao, foreign guests have also started visiting.

Self-driving Directions:

Drive 125.4 km along the Yantai-Xinxian Expressway, then exit at Laixi/Penglai/Changdao and enter the Penglai West Interchange. — Travel 740 m along the Penglai West Interchange, then turn slightly right toward Penglai.

1) Continue 180 m along the Penglai West Interchange and enter S213.

2) Drive 18.7 km along S213, then enter Zhonglou South Road.

3) Travel 940 m along Zhonglou South Road, then enter Nanmen Overpass.

4) Drive 50 m along the Nanmen Overpass, and about 50 m after passing it, continue straight onto Zhonglou South Road.

5) Travel 780 m along Zhonglou South Road, then enter Zhonglou North Road.

6) Drive 690 m along Zhonglou North Road, then turn left into Beiguan Road after passing Liqun Group Penglai Shopping Plaza on the right (about 80 m).

7) Travel 660 m along Beiguan Road, then turn right at the upcoming roundabout.

8) Travel 90 m along the roundabout, then turn right at the second exit into Harbor Road.

9) Drive 650 m along Harbor Road, then turn right.

10) Continue 330 m along Harbor Road, then enter a roundabout after passing the Ocean Polar World on the right (about 190 m).

11) Travel 80 m along the roundabout, then turn right at the third exit.

12) Drive 180 m, then continue straight.

13) Drive 580 m, then turn left ahead.

14) Drive 11.1 km, then turn left ahead.

15) Drive 10 m, then continue straight.

16) Drive 470 m, then turn right into Seaside Road.

17) Travel 970 m along Seaside Road, then turn left ahead into Tonghai Road.

18) Drive 370 meters along Tonghai Road, then turn left ahead onto Leyuan Avenue

19) Drive 760 meters along Leyuan Avenue to reach the destination (on the right side of the road)
