Mazu Temple on Miaodao Island is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Miaodao Archipelago, also known as Changdao or historically referred to as the Miaodao Islands, was anciently called Shamendao. It is an archipelago under the jurisdiction of Yantai City, Shandong Province, China, with the entire group of islands administered by Changdao County. The Xianying Palace on Changdao is the largest Mazu temple in northern China.

Getting to the Island

To get to Changdao, you must first go to Penglai. Take a passenger ferry from Penglai Wharf to the island. Ferries operate from 6:00 to 18:30, roughly every 20–30 minutes, with a one-way fare of 30 RMB per person and a round-trip fare of 60 RMB per person.

Intra-island Transportation

Chartered Car: Although there are taxis on the island, chartering a car is more cost-effective for traveling between various scenic spots.

Bicycle: Many local fishermen rent out bicycles. If you're not in a rush during your visit, you can rent one from them.
