Long Island Pearl Square is situated on the southern coast of the county town and is an artificially built seaside bathing beach. The surrounding area is filled with hotels, and the roadsides are packed with barbecue and snack stalls. During the day, it’s a lot of fun to eat, shop, and swim in the sea. At night, there is an open-air dance floor where residents and tourists take evening walks. Bathed in the sea breeze and accompanied by the rhythm of a pleasant musical fountain, they can sit by the shore, listening to the gentle whispers of the waves, which is truly relaxing.

Long Island Pearl Square is located on the southern coast of Changdao County Town. It is a free seaside bathing beach, surrounded by commercial outlets, including hotels, inns, and seafood snack bars. Along the roadsides are Changdao-style seafood stalls. During the day, visitors can enjoy dining, shopping, and swimming here, all of which are great fun. At night, there is an open-air dance floor where locals and tourists stroll after dinner. With the sea breeze blowing and the rhythm of a melodious programmed music fountain, people can dance lightly, or sit along the coast, listening to the soft whispers of the waves lapping against the shore, facing the sea and feeling the breeze while watching the colorful neon lights shimmering brilliantly across the sky, sea, and land. All the summer heat and stuffiness vanish completely.

Getting to the Island

To reach Long Island, you must first go to Penglai. Take a passenger ferry from Penglai Port to the island. Ferry services at Penglai Port operate from 6:00 to 18:30, with departures approximately every 20–30 minutes. The one-way fare is 30 RMB per person, and the round-trip fare is 60 RMB per person.

Intra-island Transportation

Chartered Vehicle: Although taxis are available on the island, chartering a vehicle offers better value for money when traveling between various attractions.

Bicycle: Many local fishermen rent out bicycles. If you’re not in a rush during your visit, you can rent one from them.

Free; the admission is included in the Changdao Scenic Area pass.
