The Shanqian Site on Beihuancheng Island is a municipal-level cultural heritage site protected by Yantai.

The Shanqian Site on Beihuancheng Island is located in Shanqian Village, Beihuancheng Township, Changdao County, dating back to the Neolithic Age.

On May 20, 2011, the Shanqian Site on Beihuancheng Island was designated as one of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Yantai.

Protected Area: Point A: at the site marker sign, E120°54'37.5", N38°23'09.9". Point B: at the northwest corner of the village committee building, E120°54'35.1", N38°23'10.0". The boundary is defined by connecting points A, B, C, and D at the edges of the site, with intersection points between every two lines serving as marker points (i.e., points A, B, C, and D). Point A: located at the southeast corner of the site; Point B: the northeast corner of the site; Point C: the northwest corner of the site; Point D: the southwest corner of the site. Area description: A–B = 100m, A–D = 150m (forming a rectangle). Total protected area: 15,000 m²

Beihuancheng Township: The total land area of the island is 2.61 square kilometers. It administers two administrative villages — Shanqian Village and Shanhou Village — with a total population of 2,395. In 2005, the total economic income of the fishing village was 146 million yuan, with the ratio of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries being 49:34:17. Tax revenue reached 1.73 million yuan. The total income from fisheries was 71.5 million yuan, including 54 million yuan from aquaculture and 17.5 million yuan from fishing. Actual utilized foreign investment exceeded 12.5 million yuan. Per capita net income was 5,100 yuan, and per capita living area was 27 square meters.
