Linyi International Film and Television City

Linyi International Film and Television City is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Linyi International Film and Television City is located within the 10,000-mu Ancient Chestnut Tree Scenic Garden in Taiping Subdistrict, Hedong District. It consists of various scenic areas and supporting facilities including the "Southern Ancient City" film and television shooting base, Japanese Street, Paris Street, London Street film and television shooting bases, Republican-era Street and Cultural Revolution Village film and television shooting bases, Zhejiang Village Eco-Hotel, and China Film and Television Village.

The first phase project, the "Southern Ancient City" site, began trial operation and opened to tourists on August 18, 2006. The "Southern Ancient City" film and television tourism scenic area covers a construction area of 33,500 square meters. The entire scenic area captures the essence of the Jiangnan water towns and blends the architectural style of Huizhou. It is divided into nine major zones: Yizhou City Gate Area, Shop Street Urban Area, Prefecture Government and Temple Fair Area, Yishui Scenic Area, Mountain Village Rainy Street Area, Mountain Flood Outburst Area, Water-and-Land Opera Performance Area, Film and Television Simulation Shooting Area, and Hotel Leisure Area. These zones not only reflect the Jiangnan architectural style of “white walls, gray bricks, dark tiles, small bridges over flowing streams, and homes by the water,” but also incorporate the historical and cultural elements of southern Shandong. They organically and ingeniously integrate local cultural elements such as Yizhou City, Yizhou Ferry, Yishui River scenery, Yizhou Prefecture, the former residence of Wang Xizhi, and Zhuge’s Thatched Cottage, creating a cultural platform that harmoniously blends “southern and northern” features. It vividly showcases the daily life and diverse charm of the Jiangnan water towns during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period.
