The Tianjin No. 2 Workers’ Cultural Palace Complex is located at No. 4 Guanghua Road, Hedong District, Tianjin. It was originally built in 1954 and expanded in 1968.

The Tianjin No. 2 Workers’ Cultural Palace (abbreviated as “Er Gong”) once hosted performances by Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang, and renowned artists such as Ma Sanli, Luo Yusheng, and Li Guyi have left their mark on its stage, earning it the reputation of a “heritage-level grand theater.” After the reform and opening-up period, Er Gong evolved into a comprehensive garden-style workers’ cultural palace. It became even more popular among local residents for hosting the annual “Gushang Chunhao” lantern festival for many years. Last year, following renovation and enhancement, new scenic spots were added, attracting large numbers of visitors and further highlighting its tourism appeal.

On January 5, 2013, it was designated as part of the Fourth Batch of Protected Cultural Heritage Sites of Tianjin by the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government.
