Jishan Provincial Geopark

Jishan Provincial Geopark is located 45 km southeast of Linyi and 9 km southwest of Linshu County, covering a total area of 59.94 square kilometers. On September 3, 2012, the Department of Land and Resources of Shandong Province approved the construction qualification for Shandong Linshu Jishan Provincial Geopark. The park is divided into two major scenic areas: the Geological Relics Scenic Area and the Danxia Shuhe Ancient River Scenic Area. The Geological Relics Scenic Area includes: the Jishan Structural Section and Dinosaur Footprint Scenic Area, and the Changlin Diamond Scenic Area; the Danxia Shuhe Ancient River Scenic Area includes: the Shuhe Ancient River and Yangshan Scenic Area, and the Qiaomaijian Primitive Forest Scenic Area.

Jishan Geopark boasts numerous geological relics that are largely preserved in their natural state. Among them, the typical structural geological relics of the Yishu Fault Zone and the Jishan dinosaur footprint fossils are systematically and completely preserved in appearance, featuring rich and diverse content. They hold national and even international comparative significance, making them extremely unique and important relics in China with high geological scientific research value. Meanwhile, the Daijian Danxia landform, the scenic river section of the Shuhe Ancient River, and the forested area of Qiaomaijian possess exceptional aesthetic value and are of great significance for tourism development and science education.
