Donghu Wetland Water Conservancy Scenic Area, Yinan County

The scenic area is located on both sides of the Yi River in the eastern part of Yinan County, built upon the Xinqi Rubber Dam and Dazhuang Rubber Dam in Yinan County. It covers a total area of 5 square kilometers, including 3.3 square kilometers of water surface.

The first and second phases of the scenic area have been completed and have formed their landscape effects. The first phase is divided into four major functional zones: cultural display, sports and fitness, ecological wetland, and themed gardens. During the construction, the original ecology of the river channel was preserved to the greatest extent possible. Leisure plazas with themes such as wetland culture, red melodies, ancient charm of Yangdu, and boat songs of the Yi River were built on both banks. The second phase is naturally connected to the first phase via a 3.5-meter-wide permeable slow walkway. Leveraging the river’s long-term water erosion that created numerous small islands and large alluvial flats, the area features elements such as a standard athletic field, themed cafes, and waterside landscapes, presenting a distinctive scene of one river with multiple wetlands and different views on either bank.

Approved as a provincial-level water conservancy scenic area in the twelfth batch in 2015.
