Linyi Tianma Island Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

Tianma Island consists of two main parts: Maji Mountain and Tianhu Lake. Maji Mountain covers an area of 26 square kilometers, with the main peak at an elevation of 662.2 meters, making it the highest among the mountains in southeastern Shandong. It is named Maji Mountain (meaning "Horse Mane Mountain") due to its resemblance to horse mane, and is a renowned mountain recorded in various ancient texts such as the History of Song, Qi Ride, and Qidong Yeyu. Tianhu Lake has a total area of 28 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 290 million cubic meters, ranking as the seventh-largest reservoir in Shandong Province. Maji Mountain rises abruptly from the ground, majestic and grand, with an imposing atmosphere. Donkey Meat: “The meat of dragons in heaven, the meat of donkeys on earth.” The donkeys in Junan are raised purely on green and pollution-free plants such as grass, and drink natural mineral water from Tianhu Lake and Shiquan Lake. Their meat is delicious and highly nutritious. The nationally famous “Junan Laodifang Donkey Meat Restaurant” prepares fragrant donkey meat using a unique technique, served with golden-hued savory broth and enhanced by rich, spicy seasonings. With its excellent color, aroma, taste, and presentation, it is a premium tonic food that one can never tire of eating. It ranks alongside Linyi Babao Douchi (eight-treasure fermented black beans) and Mengyin Guanggun Chicken as one of the three most famous local delicacies of the Yimeng region.

Tianfo Spring Pancake: Made from high-quality local grains such as wheat, corn, millet, sesame, and cañihua, along with seasonal wild vegetables and greens, these pancakes are exquisitely crafted. Sweet Potato Dish: Made from locally grown red-fleshed sweet potatoes, the potatoes are peeled, sliced into strips, and boiled in water with peanut powder. Yimeng Yuya Tea: Junan is most famous for its tea, and Yimeng Yuya Tea is the finest of them all. Made from pollution-free tea leaves, Yimeng Yuya Tea features “tightly rolled leaves, glossy green color, long-lasting fragrance, rich taste, and bright soup color.” It represents the tea of northern China and is exported both domestically and internationally.

At the foot of Maji Mountain, spring brings strawberries, cherries, and acacia flower honey; summer offers peaches, pears, and wheat-yellow apricots; autumn yields chestnuts, apples, and peanuts; and winter features persimmons, walnuts, and large winter jujubes. Fresh fruits are available year-round, all at affordable prices. A series of local products from Junan—such as stone carvings, willow weaving, and oilstones—are unmatched in China and enjoy a reputation both at home and abroad.
