Mapengguanzhuang Tourist Area
Mapengguanzhuang Tourist Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
Mapengguanzhuang Tourist Area is located 10 kilometers northwest of Junan County. It got its name during the Song and Jin dynasties due to the large number of horses raised in the village and the abundance of stables. During the Anti-Japanese War, the famous writer Liu Zhixia was stationed here and wrote his renowned masterpiece "Railway Guerrillas." In 1944, villagers voluntarily donated to build a Monument to Anti-Japanese Martyrs, which has now been recognized as a cultural relic of the War of Resistance in Linyi City. The tourist area focuses on developing three memorial halls: the Mapengguanzhuang Village History Museum, the Liu Zhixia and Original Site Memorial Hall of "Railway Guerrillas," and the Shandong Anti-Japanese Base Area Propaganda and Cultural Education Work Exhibition Hall. It also builds high-end homestays and other leisure and vacation facilities.
