The Shiyuan Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area of Zhanhua County is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Shiyuan Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area of Tuhai River is located in Zhanhua County, Binzhou City, Shandong Province, and is a national-level water conservancy scenic area. The scenic area features cultural projects such as the Dayu Square, the Dayu Sculpture, and the Water Observation Deck, as well as attractions including a ten-thousand-mu forest farm, ecological jujube orchards, and the Fishing Platform of Jiang Taigong. It not only reflects the features of being water-centered, eco-friendly, and harmonious between humans and water, but also provides visitors with a variety of leisure, sightseeing, and fitness activities.

The scenic area adopts the planning theme of “Taking the river as the vein, water as the soul, fostering closeness between people and water, and achieving ecological harmony.” It uses the urban section of the Tuhai River water system and the Shiyuan Lake water storage project as the main planning lines. Through the scientific and rational development and construction of the scenic area’s water system, ecology, and environment, it aims to achieve a virtuous cycle of prioritizing protection, developing and utilizing resources, and managing them effectively—ensuring the comprehensive, strict, and effective protection of the entire scenic area.

The Shiyuan Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area of Tuhai River started construction in the spring of 2011 and was completed in June 2012, with a total investment of 1.08 billion yuan. It covers a total area of 30.8 square kilometers, including 8.12 square kilometers of water surface and 18.5 square kilometers of green space. Ecological water systems such as the Huying River and the Taiping River connect the Tuhai River and Shiyuan Lake scenic areas into one cohesive unit.

The scenic area features cultural projects such as the Dayu Square, the Dayu Sculpture, and the Water Observation Deck, as well as attractions including a ten-thousand-mu forest farm, ecological jujube orchards, and the Fishing Platform of Jiang Taigong. It not only reflects the characteristics of being water-centered, eco-friendly, and harmonious between humans and water, but also offers a wide range of leisure, sightseeing, and fitness activities for visitors. With well-developed land and water transportation and complete public facilities, the scenic area has become a renowned tourist destination in northern Shandong and a beautiful “business card” of Zhanhua.
