Zhanhua District Museum

The Zhanhua District Museum is located in the District Civic Activity Center. Approved for establishment in March 2016 by the District Institutional Compilation Committee, it is under the administration of the District Culture and Tourism Bureau. It serves as an important window for showcasing the spiritual civilization and highlighting the historical and cultural characteristics of Zhanhua District.

The museum has a construction area of 4,200 square meters and an exhibition area of 2,600 square meters. Its overall display avoids the approach of trying to cover everything or presenting an overly comprehensive general history. Instead, it focuses on highlighting the strengths of Zhanhua’s regional history and culture, consciously conveying the most influential information about Zhanhua to visitors. This allows them to gain a more comprehensive and clear understanding of Zhanhua’s status, role, and development in Chinese history through the exhibitions. In November 2016, the "Zhanhua District Museum Basic Exhibition Plan" successfully passed the provincial museum exhibition design review and received high praise from numerous cultural and museum experts both within and outside the province.

The exhibition is designed around the themes of poetry and book culture, sea salt culture, and the spirit of the Old Bohai Sea. It is divided into six major exhibition halls: the General Preface Hall, the Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall, the Red Culture Exhibition Hall, the Ancient Salt Industry Exhibition Hall, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall, and the Cloud Zhanhua Big Data Display Center. The museum boasts a rich collection of cultural relics, detailed historical materials, and a well-arranged layout. It utilizes modern high-tech display methods such as sound, light, and electricity, special visual effects, LED screens, touch screens, projections, VR virtual reality technology, and multi-channel seamless projection displays like "curved screen + floor screen." These elements highlight Zhanhua’s profound historical and cultural heritage and its long-standing, splendid historical charm. It is a comprehensive museum integrating humanities and history, folk customs, social education, exhibition and collection, and exhibition exchanges. The museum plays an important role in showcasing and promoting Zhanhua’s long history and deep cultural foundation. It also serves as an important venue for citizens to learn about outstanding traditional culture, enjoy art and leisure, and cultivate quality and sentiment.
