Jinan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery

Jinan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism destination, a patriotic education base, and a national defense education base.

Jinan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is situated in the picturesque Hero Mountain Scenic Area of Jinan. Hero Mountain, Ma'an Mountain, Wuli Mountain, and Liuli Mountain extend from north to south, creating a semi-circular mountain range that faces west. Spanning 320,000 square meters, it is one of the largest martyrs' cemeteries in East China. With its verdant pines and cypresses and stunning landscape, it is recognized as a "National Key Martyrs' Memorial Building Protection Unit," one of the first national "Patriotic Education Demonstration Bases" and "National Defense Education Demonstration Bases." Both its internal management and external environment, as well as its service quality and educational impact, have reached top national standards, making it one of the first batch of "100 Classic Red Tourism Destinations" in China. On October 15, 1948, the Jinan Special Municipal Government decided to build the Jinan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the liberation of Jinan. In November 1949, the foundation of the Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument was laid. In October 2002, the Jinan Battle Memorial Hall was officially completed. The hall displays precious historical materials including artifacts, photographs, and texts, collectively reflecting the indomitable and heroic spirit of the Jinan military and civilians under the leadership of the Communist Party during the Liberation War, as well as their united and fearless revolutionary heroism. It presents a vivid historical panorama of blood and fire to the world.
