The Shandong Provincial Party History Exhibition Hall is a patriotic education base.

The Shandong Provincial Party History Exhibition Hall of the Communist Party of China was officially opened in 1988. Its original site was located within Wulongtan Park. In 1991, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the Jinan Municipal Government, following a decision by the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, expanded the exhibition hall. It was then designated as a county-level fully funded institution directly under the Jinan Municipal Party History Research Office. It is mainly responsible for organizing provincial and municipal Party history promotional exhibitions, carrying out commemorative activities related to Party history and Party building, as well as collecting and researching Party history relics and Party building materials. As one of the first patriotic education bases in Shandong Province and Jinan City, the Provincial Party History Exhibition Hall adapted to the national trend of museums and memorial halls opening to the public free of charge. In accordance with the spirit of the central government’s “Notice on the Free Opening of Museums and Memorial Halls Nationwide,” it has been open to the public free of charge since February 2008. Since then, it has hosted a series of major Party history exhibitions, including “A Glorious Journey – The Local History Exhibition of the Communist Party of China in Shandong,” “The Large-Scale Photo Exhibition of Jinan’s Party History,” “A Glorious Journey – Photo Exhibition from the 1st to the 18th National Congress of the CPC,” “‘Old Jinan, New Spring City’ Large-Scale Photography Exhibition,” and “Historical Photo Exhibition of the Care and Concern of Party and State Leaders for Shandong.” These exhibitions have achieved widespread social impact. In 1995, the Provincial Party History Exhibition Hall was named as one of the first provincial and municipal patriotic education bases by both Shandong Province and Jinan City. In 2007, it was awarded the titles of “Shandong Provincial Party Member Education Base” and “Jinan Municipal Party Member Education Base” by the Organization Department of the Shandong Provincial Committee and the Organization Department of the Jinan Municipal Committee, respectively. In 2009, it was listed as a key historical and cultural site for inspection. It has successively signed agreements with dozens of universities, middle schools, and primary schools to establish moral education and practice base partnerships. In 2010, it was awarded the title of “Jinan Municipal Minor Ideological and Moral Education Base” by the Jinan Municipal Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee. In 2011, it was designated as a “Revolutionary Tradition Education Base” by the Jinan Military Region. In June 2012, the Shandong Provincial Party History Exhibition Hall was recognized by the Shandong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Shandong Provincial Supervision Department as a Shandong Provincial “Anti-Corruption and Integrity Education Base.” As an important window and activity base for Party history promotion and revolutionary tradition education, the Provincial Party History Exhibition Hall earnestly implements the “Implementation Opinions of the Jinan Municipal Committee of the CPC on Strengthening and Improving Party History Work Under the New Situation.” It carries out in-depth education on ideals and beliefs, as well as the fine traditions and work styles of the Party. It has also signed moral education partnership agreements with universities in Jinan such as Shandong University, Shandong Normal University, and Shandong University of Political Science and Law, actively engaging in joint moral education base activities between the museum and schools. These efforts provide excellent conditions for university students to receive Party history education and participate in voluntary Party history promotion activities.
