Shandong Liu Family Antique Clock Museum

Located in Jinan’s Qixian Cultural City, the "Shandong Liu Family Antique Clock Museum" is a non-state-owned museum recognized by the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics. It was established by five siblings—Liu Rongquan, Liu Rongqin, Liu Rongchang, Liu Rongguang, and Liu Rongyue—on the foundation of their late father Liu Enyang’s lifelong passion for clock collecting. They contributed their own collections to form the museum.

The museum displays foreign clocks that flowed into China from the 18th to the late 20th century, as well as various types of domestically produced clocks in China, covering five major categories: mantel clocks, wall clocks, table clocks, pocket watches, and wristwatches. Among the collection are an 18th-century French leather-cased clock, a custom-made wall clock signed by a British watchmaker, a 19th-century Swiss enamel nobleman’s pocket watch, and over 2,000 other clock pieces including “Big Eight Pieces” pocket watches, marble clocks, glass table clocks, striking pocket watches, and railway pocket watches—all specially made for the Chinese market by major European producing countries.

On the east wall hangs a plaque inscribed with the words “Clock Museum,” where each stroke of the characters is formed by various types of watches, and the border of the plaque is inlaid with watches and watch straps.
