The Baiyun Lake Scenic Area in Zhangqiu is a national AA-level tourist attraction and a national wetland park.

Baiyun Lake, also known as Liulangzhongpo, is said to have been named after the legend of white clouds rising from the lake, resembling a shining pearl nestled 19 kilometers northwest of Mingshui in Zhangqiu City. It borders the Yellow River to the north, lies 35 kilometers southwest of Jinan, and is just 10 kilometers from Yaoqiang International Airport.

The Baiyun Lake Scenic Area in Zhangqiu is located in the northwest of Zhangqiu City, just 10 kilometers from Jinan International Airport and 35 kilometers from downtown Jinan. With a long history, Baiyun Lake was formed around the Han Dynasty. As recorded in "Jun Qu Si Shuo": “Streams converge, waters gather into a lake, and white clouds rise from within, hence the name of the lake.” Baiyun Lake boasts beautiful scenery and has been a renowned tourist destination since ancient times. The phrase “Returning late after boating on Baiyun Lake” is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Zhangqiu. Many literati, including the Song Dynasty female poet Li Qingzhao, the Yuan Dynasty writer Zhang Yanghao, and Li Kaixian—one of the “Eight Talents of Jiajing” in the Ming Dynasty—have left timeless verses here.

The Baiyun Lake Scenic Area consists of Baiyun Lake Park, an amusement park, and a three-dimensional ecological agricultural sightseeing garden. Baiyun Lake features a vast water area and is one of the larger natural lakes in Shandong. Within Baiyun Lake Park, there are attractions such as the Thousand-Mu Red Lotus Pond, the Lotus Fairy, the Twelve Zodiac Sculptures, the Auspicious Bell, a water recreation center, and a waterfowl island. Visitors can take sightseeing vehicles or ride on motorboats to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy endless lotus flowers and greenery. Baiyun Lake Amusement Park offers thrilling aerial cable cars, an entertaining Bagua Maze, a variety of over 50 recreational facilities with local flavor such as swings, rock climbing, and wobble boards, as well as grand attractions like the Old Shanghai Street and the Gallery of Renowned Figures from Qilu. The agricultural sightseeing garden includes 700 mu of fish ponds and 800 mu of vegetable and fruit plantations.
