Zhangqiu Jinping Mountain Tourist Resort is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Jinping Mountain, also known as Pingding Mountain, is situated at the junction of Wenzu Town and Duozhuang Town in Zhangqiu City, about 12 kilometers from the city center, and has an elevation of nearly 400 meters. The area is covered with dense pine and cypress forests, lush and green like embroidered silk, stretching out like a scenic painting screen — thus earning the name "Jinping" (Brocade Screen). The flat-topped summit has given it the alternative name "Pingding Mountain" (Flat Top Mountain). The Jinping Mountain Scenic Area features a main peak with an elevation of 563.5 meters. As an extension of Mount Tai (the Eastern Sacred Mountain), it is often referred to as the "Little Mount Tai." The scenic spots are divided into five major areas: Chaoyangguan Scenic Area, Tianditing Scenic Area, Folk Culture Area, Jinping Square, and Beitianyu Holiday Area.

Jinping Mountain, also called Pingding Mountain, stands 563.5 meters above sea level and covers an area of 25 square kilometers. With its winding ridges and layers of emerald peaks, the mountain boasts uniquely beautiful scenery. The resort area is divided into five major scenic zones: Jinping Square, Folk Culture Area, Chaoyangguan Scenic Area, Beitianyu Holiday Area, and Tianditing Scenic Area.

"A mountain need not be high — it is famous if it is home to an immortal." During the Qing Dynasty's Yongzheng era, Han Yangcheng, a scholar from Shantoudian Village, became a monk at the age of 20 and came to Jinping Mountain to practice. He built the Bixia Temple and Laojun Hall, after which the mountain gradually gained popularity and fame for its increasing incense offerings.

Jinping Mountain is home to 29 ancient cypresses planted during the Tang Dynasty, a 560-year-old ginkgo tree, two springs — Longnu Spring and Chaoyang Cave Spring — as well as natural caves such as Chaoyang Cave and Lotus Cave. Natural landmarks include Sandeng Cliff, Chicken Crest Peak, Horse Neck Ridge, and the Immortal-Greeting Boulder.

The Jinping Mountain Tourist Resort offers recreational activities such as adventure training, horseback riding, archery, rare bird watching, and rural games. There are three major sculpture groups: sculptures of 20th-century historical figures, Peking opera facial makeup art, and modern sculptures. The area also features distinctive dining options such as Jinping Eight-Dish Set, Northern Whole Lamb Feast, Jinping Seafood City, Mountain Wild Flavor Restaurant, and Tianditing Food Stalls. Down the mountain, there are leisure villas, while up the mountain, accommodations such as Najiavillage and Pojia Village offer over 100 beds. These facilities provide services for leisure, vacation, and small meetings. Visitor Service Center: Located at the scenic area ticket office, the Visitor Service Center provides services such as guided tours and travel inquiries.

Public Transportation:

Take the bus from Jinan East Station at 9:00 AM daily to Zhangqiu Wenzu Sandefan Village, or take a direct bus from Jinan to Mingshui, then transfer to the Mingshui–Jinping Mountain shuttle bus at the Zhangqiu Long-Distance Bus Station. (The shuttle departs at 8:10 AM and returns along the same route at 3:30 PM.)

Self-Driving Directions:

Take the G3 Expressway / Jiqing Expressway → Jinan Ring Expressway → Exit at Jinan East → Drive east on National Highway 309 for about 25 minutes, then turn right → Drive south on Zhanglai Road for about 10 kilometers (scenic area signs will be visible), then turn right to reach the scenic area. The drive takes approximately 45 minutes after exiting the expressway.

Parking Information:

The parking lot is located at the scenic area entrance (at the foot of the mountain).
