Xishan Ecological Sightseeing Park is located in the northeastern part of Puji Town, at the junction of Jinan, Zibo, and Zouping. The village is surrounded by the Changbai Mountain Range on its southern, western, and northern sides, while the eastern side borders Wawu Reservoir. Nestled among mountains on three sides and facing water on one, it lies hidden in the deep mountains, far from the hustle and bustle.

The cultivation of Xishan cherries has a history of nearly 500 years. The village currently has over 2,500 cherry trees. The cherry harvest season generally lasts from around May 10 to June 5 each year. In addition to widespread cherry cultivation, the village also boasts a rich variety of other fruit trees. Traditional crops such as Chinese toon, Sichuan pepper, persimmons, and walnuts have been grown here for many years, with substantial yields. There are seasonal delights year-round: Chinese toon sprouts in spring, cherries in early summer, mountain apricots after the wheat harvest, and walnuts and mountain persimmons in autumn. This creates tourism advantages with three seasons for fruit picking and four seasons for sightseeing.

With the theme of “Using festivals as a stage, culture as the performance, to promote tourism and agriculture,” the Cherry Picking Festival serves as the main event. Leveraging the area’s natural resources and tapping into its profound cultural heritage, a colorful agricultural festival has been created. Historical legends and cultural relics have been deeply researched, relevant scenic spot texts compiled, and new attractions like the Dragon Pillar constructed. Seven landmark sights have been developed, including the Millennium Ancient Cypress, Flourishing Dragon Soaring, Tiger Cave, and Elderly Stone.
