Liuyang Guild Hall
Liuyang Guild Hall is a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit in Beijing.
Liuyang Guild Hall is located at No. 41 Beibanjie Hutong, Xicheng District, and is listed as one of the eighth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Beijing.
Built in the ninth year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1870), it covers an area of over 1,000 square meters. The guild hall faces east and sits west, with its current layout relatively well-preserved. During the Hundred Days' Reform, Tan Sitong lived in a suite of rooms in the main building, which he named “Mangcangcang Zhai.” Liuyang Guild Hall is a typical county-level guild hall in Beijing. Additionally, as the former residence of Tan Sitong—the first martyr to sacrifice for reform and innovation in the late Qing Dynasty—it holds significant commemorative value.
