Dongguan North Village in XiuHui Town, Zhangqiu City is striving to build a new countryside that is livable, work-friendly, and full of charm.

Xiujiang Square integrates urban features with natural landscapes, blending modern residential communities with the beautiful and dynamic Xiujiang River, achieving a perfect combination of “ancient city” and “water charm.” Dongguan North Village is located in the town center of XiuHui, which was once the old county seat of Zhangqiu. The moat within the town was originally built during the Ming Dynasty. Since 2012, XiuHui Town has implemented a renovation and upgrading project for the moat. The renovated historic moat now serves new functions: the surface stores rainwater while underground sewage pipelines have been laid, achieving separation of rainwater and sewage. The open space on the south side of the old moat will be transformed into public green space, with plans to plant over 3,000 saplings. In addition, a 3-meter-wide pedestrian path totaling 3,000 meters in length will be constructed, along with 60 high-standard street lamps, bringing new vitality to the old moat and highlighting the charm of the ancient town.
