Meng Luochuan, the 69th-generation descendant of Mencius, was born in Jiujun, Diaozhen, Zhangqiu, Jinan, Shandong Province. He was a renowned businessman whose ancestors were both landlords and merchants. As a representative figure during the heyday of the Meng family’s “Xiang” brand businesses, he was the founder and leader of Ruifuxiang. Throughout his life, Meng Luochuan organized numerous charitable and public welfare initiatives, earning him the title of philanthropist and being hailed as “Where Meng goes, kindness follows.”

In modern Chinese history, the Meng family business clan was a prestigious and influential dynasty well-known across the land and throughout Shandong. It was also a wealthy and powerful merchant group that traded goods both domestically and internationally.
