Luozhuang Han Royal Tombs Site Park is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Luozhuang Han Tomb is located about 1 kilometer west of Luozhuang Village, Zaoyuan Subdistrict Office, Zhangqiu District, Jinan City. In June 1999, villagers accidentally discovered bronze ware while digging earth near a mound. Upon hearing the news, the Zhangqiu District Museum conducted an emergency excavation. Excavations took place from June 1999 to the end of 2000. Covering an area of approximately 40,000 square meters, the tomb faces east-west, with a ground plan in the shape of a Chinese character “中”. There is one ramp on the eastern and western sides of the tomb chamber, and the depth of the tomb chamber is about 20 meters. The tomb chamber covers an area of approximately 1,300 square meters, making it the largest pit tomb of a Han-era feudal king discovered in the region. Through two excavations, a total of 15 large burial pits and 21 small burial pits and sacrificial pits were found. The funerary objects in each pit were categorized and varied greatly in type and content. These include pits for ceremonial wooden figurines, chariot and horse pits, weapon pits, food and kitchen pits, musical instrument pits, sacrificial cattle pits, horse pits, and small sacrificial pits, making it the Han tomb with the most burial pits discovered to date. In Pit No. 14, a set of 19 chime bells and six sets of 107 chime stones were found—the number of chime stones exceeds the total number of such artifacts discovered in all previous Han Dynasty archaeological finds in China. For the first time, a musical instrument burial pit was discovered, with a rare quantity of bronze instruments. Over 3,000 cultural relics were unearthed, with the largest number being gold horse trappings. On the north and south sides of the eastern ramp, a rare architectural relic was discovered, providing new data for the study of burial systems in Han-era royal tombs.

The Luozhuang Han Royal Tombs are grand in scale and boast extremely high-value funerary objects. It is not only the largest Han royal tomb discovered in the province but also rare nationwide. The number of burial pits is the highest among similar Han royal tombs discovered in China. Based on the unearthed relics and ancient texts such as Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji) and Book of Han (Hanshu), it is highly likely that the tomb belongs to Lü Tai, the King of the State of Lü, who was enfeoffed in Jinan (Dongpingling City) during the early Western Han Dynasty. It was rated as one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China in 2000.
