The Mao Zedong Poetry Screen Wall is a cultural relic protection unit of Yanzhou District.

The Mao Zedong Poetry Screen Wall is located in the former compound of the Gucun Supply and Marketing Cooperative in Hougou Village, Da’an Town, Yanzhou City. Built in 1968, it stands 6.35 meters tall and 3.9 meters wide. Facing south, it sits on a Sumeru pedestal. Originally, a portrait of Mao Zedong was painted in the center, but it has since peeled off; the left and right sides are inscribed in relief with Mao’s calligraphy: “The Red Army fears not the trials of the Long March” and “Over mountains and rivers, we take them all in stride.” This screen wall is a unique structure created under the specific circumstances of the Cultural Revolution, authentically reflecting that extraordinary period in New China’s history. It bears distinct characteristics of the era and holds certain historical and cultural relic value. In October 2009, it was approved and announced by the People’s Government of Yanzhou City as part of the third batch of Yanzhou Municipal Cultural Relic Protection Units.
