Divine Bridge

The Divine Bridge is a Jining Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Divine Bridge is situated on the Fu River (Xuegong Fengyuan Canal) in Shenlu Community, Jiuxianqiao Subdistrict, Yanzhou District, west of the Jining Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit — Jiuxianqiao. According to the *Yanzhou County Place Names Gazetteer*, “The Divine Bridge was built during the Ming Dynasty. In the late Ming and early Qing periods, it was called ‘Zan Zheng Bridge,’ but later, as the Shenlu Street leading to Tianxian Temple passed through here, it was renamed ‘Divine Bridge.’ The Divine Bridge features a single-arch brick-and-stone structure, oriented north-south, with a total length of 17.5 meters and a width of 7.7 meters. Currently, the single-arch stone structure remains stable, and apart from some localized corrosion damage to the brickwork, the bridge largely retains its original appearance. This discovery holds significant value for the study of Ming Dynasty bridge construction characteristics. In October 2009, it was approved and announced by the Yanzhou Municipal People’s Government as part of the third batch of Yanzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Units.

On December 26, 2016, the Jining Municipal People’s Government designated it as part of the fifth batch of Jining Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Jiuxianqiao Subdistrict: Established in June 2008, Jiuxianqiao Subdistrict in Yanzhou District is located in the eastern part of Yanzhou. The area is home to three rivers: the Si River, the Xiaoyi River, and the Fu River, covering a total area of 11.3 square kilometers. In 2012, it governed 13 administrative villages and 6 communities. By the end of 2013, the subdistrict had a total resident population of 32,899, including 21,285 urban permanent residents, accounting for an urbanization rate of 65%.

In 2014, Jiuxianqiao Subdistrict aligned its efforts with the municipal Party committee’s overall requirements for a “Year of Enhancement and Effectiveness,” following the district Party committee and government’s development strategy of “One, Two, Three, Four, Five” and the four “More...” Detailed information about Jiuxianqiao Subdistrict++
