The Sun Family Ancient Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by Yanzhou District.

The Sun Family Ancient Residence is located in Gulou Community, Gulou Subdistrict Office, Yanzhou District. Its exact construction date is unknown, but it is inferred to be a Qing Dynasty building based on its architectural style. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was used as dormitory housing for a printing factory and is now inhabited by Sun Yihai. It features a traditional courtyard layout, with the northern building spanning three bays (10.3 meters) and topped with a flush-gable roof. The walls are built from brick and adobe, and the doors and windows are made of wood with openwork designs. The southern building also spans three bays (10.6 meters), with a flush-gable roof and wooden windows, some of which feature arched designs. The east and west sides have wing rooms, each with five bays, also featuring flush-gable roofs, corridors, and inner front sections with wooden door-and-window combinations. The corridor pillars have decayed, and the corridor frames have partially collapsed. To the right of each wing room is a two-story pavilion. Aside from the southern building, which remains relatively intact, the other three structures are in severe disrepair. In October 2009, it was designated as part of the third batch of Yanzhou District Cultural Heritage Protection Units with approval from the Yanzhou District People’s Government.
