The Ancient Han Residence

The Ancient Han Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by Yanzhou District.

The Ancient Han Residence is located in the Minzu Community of Gulou Subdistrict, Yanzhou District. It consists of the main hall, southern wing, and eastern wing, forming a typical quadrangle courtyard architecture from the Qing Dynasty. The main hall retains more of its original architectural style, while the other sections have been renovated, with their roofs replaced by modern tiles. The main hall is three bays wide (10.4 meters) and 5.2 meters deep, featuring a flush gable roof with partial tubular tiles, though most have now been replaced by modern tiles. The walls are made of brick, with wooden doors and windows. Inside, wooden partitions divide the space into inner and front rooms. This courtyard was originally a residence purchased in the city by Han Xiangyin, a wealthy merchant from Hanlou Village. After the liberation, it came under the management of the housing authority, and is currently rented by four urban households. In October 2009, it was designated as part of the third batch of Yanzhou District Cultural Heritage Protection Units with approval from the Yanzhou Municipal People's Government.
