Xinyan Yangzhuang Site

The Xinyan Yangzhuang Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Yanzhou District.

The Yangzhuang Site is located in the fields east of Yangzhuang Village, Xinyan Town, Yanzhou City, on flat terrain. The site covers an area of approximately 5,000 square meters and is rich in content, featuring cultural remains from multiple periods including the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Song and Yuan dynasties. The cultural deposit is about 1.5–2 meters thick, with abundant artifacts exposed on the ground surface. Collected items include fragments of gray pottery with fine clay body, gray pottery with sand inclusions, red pottery with fine clay body such as pots and jars, as well as bricks, tiles, and a small number of porcelain shards. Most pottery fragments are decorated with cord marks. The site is relatively well-preserved. This discovery is rich in content with a clear cultural sequence, and is of great significance for studying the developmental sequence of archaeological cultures in the region during historical periods. In October 2009, it was approved and announced by the People's Government of Yanzhou City as part of the third batch of Yanzhou Municipal Cultural Heritage Protection Units.
