Liuhan Site

The Liuhan Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the Yanzhou District level.

The Liuhan Site is located southwest of Liuhan Village, Xiaomeng Town, Yanzhou City, covering an area of approximately 40,000 square meters. The cultural stratum is about 1.5 meters thick, with exposed ash pits and fired earth on the ground. Collected pottery includes gravel-tempered red pottery and gravel-tempered gray pottery, featuring decorative patterns such as string patterns and rope patterns. Artifacts include jars, dou (food vessels), and li (tripod cauldrons). In March 2003, it was announced as a Yanzhou Municipal-level Cultural Heritage Protection Unit. According to the Yanzhou Government Document No. 28 (2009), the protected area is defined with the marker stele as the center point, extending 100 meters east, 50 meters west, 100 meters south, and 50 meters north. The construction control zone extends 50 meters outward from the boundary of the protected area in all directions.

It governs 5 administrative regions and 42 administrative villages, with a total population of 39,000. The town has a long history and is home to well-known Dawenkou Culture sites — the Xiwusi Site and the Sangyuan Site. It enjoys convenient transportation, with the Jiyang Highway passing through the area and the Yanzhou-Liangshan Highway intersecting here.
