Xia Village Ruins

The Xia Village Ruins are a cultural relic protection unit of Yanzhou District.

The Xia Village Ruins are located to the north of Xia Village in Da’an Town, covering an area of approximately 30,000 square meters with a cultural deposit about 1.5 meters thick. Collected artifacts from the Dawenkou culture include pottery made of fine red clay, coarse gray clay mixed with sand, fine gray clay, and coarse red clay with sand, adorned with decorative patterns such as appliqué, and featuring vessel types like bowls, tripods, and jars. In March 2003, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit at the Yanzhou City level. According to the Yanzhou Government Document No. 28 (2009), the protected area is defined with the marker stele as the center point, extending 100 meters eastward, to the stele westward, 100 meters southward, and 100 meters northward. The construction control zone extends 50 meters outward from the boundary of the protected area in all directions.
