Dongmeng Village Site

The Dongmeng Village Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Jining City.

The Dongmeng Village Site is located in a vegetable garden about 50 meters west of Dongmeng Village, Xinyan Town, Yanzhou City. The terrain here is slightly elevated compared to the surrounding area, covering an area of approximately 3,000 square meters. It contains cultural remains from multiple periods, including the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Song Dynasty. The cultural stratum is about 2 meters thick, and a wealth of artifacts are exposed on the ground surface. A large number of porcelain fragments from bowls and jars have been collected, as well as fragments of gray clay pottery, red clay pottery such as pots and basins, and other objects. The site is relatively well-preserved. This discovery has rich connotations and a clear cultural sequence, making it highly significant for studying the developmental sequence of archaeological cultures during the local historical period. In October 2009, it was approved and announced as part of the third batch of cultural relic protection units of Yanzhou City by the Yanzhou Municipal People’s Government. In November 2012, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Jining City.
